Privacy policy

The short version

We do not ask you for a name, an email address or an account. We do not have a database of visitors. The only data stored about you sits in your own browser, and you can clear it at any time from your browser settings.

What we store in your browser

The site uses your browser's localStorage — not cookies — to remember your preferences between visits:

• rttc_region_v1, rttc_units_v1 and rttc_currency_v1 — your region, units and currency.
• rttc_compare_v1 — which tents you have queued in the comparison tray.
• rttc_theme_v1 — whether you chose the light or dark theme.
• rttc_rates_v1 — a cached copy of exchange rates, so we do not fetch them again for 24 hours.

None of this leaves your device or is linked to you. Clearing site data in your browser removes all of it.

Third-party services

Exchange rates are fetched from the open ExchangeRate-API endpoint when you select a non-USD currency. That request tells them your IP address, as any web request does. No information about you is sent with it.

Analytics. The site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookie-free and does not fingerprint or track individuals across sites. It records aggregate page views only.

Advertising.The site carries Google AdSense advertising. Google may use cookies to serve and measure ads, and in some regions may use them for personalised advertising. Where the law requires it — the EEA, the UK and Switzerland — you are shown Google's own certified consent message before any personalised advertising, and personalised ads are withheld until you agree. You can change or withdraw that choice at any time through the same consent controls. Google's own policy is at policies.google.com.

When you click a “check current price” button, you are taken to a retailer or manufacturer. That destination may set its own cookies to attribute the visit to us. Affiliate links are marked in the page source with rel="sponsored", and open in a new tab. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct and erase personal data held about you. Since we hold none — no accounts, no mailing list, no visitor database — there is nothing for us to retrieve or delete. The data in your browser is yours to clear directly.
